“Rumours” is the eleventh studio album from British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac, and was released on the 4th February 1977 via Warner Bros. It was mainly recorded in California in 1976, with the intention of the group to make it a pop album, however it was mainly a rock-pop album.
“Rumours” was an instant commercial success, and sold over 10 million copies only a month after its release. It won “Album of the Year” at the 1977 Grammy Awards, and in 2003 was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
It is considered the band’s greatest ever work, and has sold over 40 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best selling albums of all time. In 2020, Rolling Stone ranked the album at #7 in it’s list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.
