This song has a very empowering message for people who are being bullied. Sia recorded a demo guide vocal and sent it to Katy Perry, but Perry turned it down because she didn’t want to work with David Guetta. After that, Mary J. Blige recorded the song, but her version leaked online in July 2011. David Guetta originally wanted Sia to add her vocals to the song as he loves her voice. In an interview with News.com.au, Guetta said: “The first time I heard what Sia did, because she was not in the studio with me, I fell in love with it. I didn’t even want to give it to anyone else; it was perfect the way it was. It’s not only about how big you are in America, it’s about the song and the voice.”
In an interview with Artist Direct, Guetta explained: “That song is interesting because it’s different from anything else on the album. All of the guests on the album are from pop and R&B, and ‘Titanium’ is a little bit like a UFO flying over it all because Sia is a more of an indie artist. I think she’s the only white girl on the record. I fell in love with the song. At first, she wrote that song and demoed it. She wanted to give it to another artist, but I felt her voice is so incredible and the song is so emotional that I really wanted her to stay on it. The song also uses some acoustic elements which is very different from what I usually do. I think it makes it very interesting.”

I do not like David Guetta video.
I loved the original done with running away from chasers (spys) in old town/steps to church, and escape in end on speedboat to sea.

This is an amazing song. I am an injury and neuroepidmeiolgist and I develop behavioral programs to prevent exposure to injury and violence. Specifically among the neurobiology of trauma. What makes this song most impressive, is that a victim, of whether being bullied (in school or in the workplace), or as a victim of intimate partner violence (IPV), that victim even though they may feel strong. And of course the stronger their self-confidence is, the stronger they will be, but these abusive behaviors will still have negative consequences as the brain develops and responds to what it has been exposed to in order to survive similar situations. As a traumatic experience occurs (whether emotional or physical abuse) this memory, from smell, sound, etc. are stored in their visual cortex so if something similar happens in the future it can respond accordingly to survive. The problem is that this victim can experience various levels of Post Traumatic Stress Disorders (PTSD) affecting how they behave in school, workplace, family and intimate relationships.
We hope to use this song in many of out parent and teens classes when teaching about presenting exposure to abuse and traumatic experiences and adolescent risk taking behavior. Thank you for an amazing song that is equally as enjoyable to experience listening too.

I have heard this song many times and know the lyrics. However this is the first time I have seen the video. It seems perhaps the video is showing a perpetrator, who has been exposed to trauma in the home and likely bullied at school. Or maybe parts of a film. But either way the song works. Not sure about the video.
