Story of Song
“Talk Dirty” was originally made for Missy Elliott. The idea behind the song is basically Jason Derulo telling a girl that even though she doesn’t speak his language, all that’s really important is he knows when she talks dirty to him. Jason told 97.1 (Amp Radio) that he “wanted to experiment and do some different stuff. So we tried new things. We didn’t necessarily have any barriers. We weren’t trying to make something that sounded like it was on the radio. We wanted to make something fresh and different. So this is one of the experiments, with the saxophone.” Jason also told Billboard: “When I first heard the track, I loved it because it sounded exotic and Eastern. The chorus came to me immediately. I channeled my experience touring the world. You don’t need to speak the language to communicate — body language is universal.
