T N Biscuits

Album Nothing Great About Britain

“T N Biscuits” is the seventeenth track from British rapper slowthai’s (real name Tyron Kaymone Frampton) debut album “Nothing Great About Britain”, which was released earlier in 2019.

“T N Biscuits” talks about small town living and his experiences dealing as well as using drugs. Music publication Pitchfork stated: “On T N Biscuits, Slowthai channels snarling, small-town angst to vicious effect … The track’s title might conjure up images of tea time in quaint villages, but from start to finish, Slowthai raises his tattooed middle finger to any old-fashioned ideas you might have of the UK’s countryside.” slowthai also annotated his lyrics on Genius.com about the track, explaining some of the lyrics: “Pay me my dues (for drug dealing) because I’m hungry/greedy for more money (A), which I reiterate in the next line as getting gas like juice (B). I continue: ‘take it lightly, it’s just food’, a slang term for drugs. This is a very nonchalant statement, showing a lack of care as I speak from the mindset of a drug dealer throughout the verse. Also a play on words for being hungry/greedy with the line previous.
The music video was released on the 24th January 2018, and was directed by production group “THE REST”, who are based in Northampton in the UK (which is also slowthai’s hometown). It shows slowthai rapping the track on a warping screen and walking down the streets, as well as the video showcasing a pixelated effect, further confusing the viewer between reality and media. The video ends with slowthai rapping live in a dark venue. As of October 2019, the video has over 4.4 million views.
