“Sure Thing” is the opening track from Miguel’s debut album “All I Want Is You”, which was released in 2010 via Jive Records.
The R&B neo-soul love song sees Miguel use analogies all throughout the song to express his love to a person, such as: “If you be the cash/ I’ll be the rubber band”. The song is a witty and smooth ode to a lover, and a love Miguel is sure of.
The music video was released on Miguel’s official YouTube channel on the 6th January 2011, and was directed by Hype Williams. As of the 17th February 2023, the video had a total of 115.2 million views.
In January 2023, a sped up version of the track went viral on TikTok, along with a dance to go with the song.
As of early 2023, the song was certified Gold in Denmark and Portugal, Platinum in the UK, and 3x Platinum in the US and New Zealand.
