Run

“Run” is the second single from Joji (real name George Miller) and his upcoming second studio album. Released on the 6th February 2020 and written by Joji, Daniel Wilson and Justin Parker, with production done by Joji and Parker. “Joji” is the Japanese pronunciation of the word “George”, of where Joji is from, as well as Australia.

“Run” follows the same melancholic tone as other Joji tracks, and features Joji’s singing about his sadness regarding a past relationship and finding out his ex is with someone new. The track also features a powerful guitar solo towards the ending.

The music video was released on the 6th February 2020, just ten hours after the release of the song. Directed by Aisultan Seitov, it features Joji travelling through a never ending limousine throwing a party, in which Joji cannot escape from, as well as shots of a grey cracked ground that Joji lies on, with cracks on his face. The video ends with Joji running through an empty desert, then Joji waking up from what seems to be a dream. In less than one month, the video has received 15.4 million views and over 787 thousand likes.
