Story of Song The stories behind the hits Novellic

Story of Song

When Rita first heard this song she immediately felt connected to it. She told the staff from “There’s a track on there [the album] called R.I.P., which is about a girl getting her own and telling her man ‘I’m so much better than you ex-girl you don’t even know!’ I know there’s girls… well I can speak for myself sometimes I’m always intrude on knowing who he used to go out with! If I’m seeing a guy ‘who do you used to go out with?’  not because I cared about her, not because I think they’re better than me or anything like that, it’s because you just always want to know…and because you’re going to compare yourself to the ex just because that’s what girls do. So this is a song about me saying to the guy ‘RIP to the girl you used to see her days are over…I’ve decided to give you all of me…’ When Drake wrote that I was just like ‘Tt makes to much sense to me that I would love to sing this song’ I wouldn’t sing a song if I didn’t connect to it.”
