“Leave the Door Open” is the debut single from American duo Silk Sonic, consisting of Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak. The smooth R&B soul-infused song was released on the 5th March 2021 via Aftermath and Atlantic Records.

“Leave the Door Open” received critical acclaim, and charted highly across the globe. The song consists of both Mars and Anderson .Paak proclaiming their love for their significant other, and how their door will always been open to them at any time. Mars and Anderson .Paak met in 2017 while touring on the European leg of Mars 24K Magic World tour. During this time, both artists were seen working in the studio with Nile Rodgers and Guy Lawrence from Disclourse. In an interview in New Zealand with radio DJ Zane Lowe for the Apple Music podcast Beats 1, Paak spoke about the song requiring: “patience and delicate” to create. He added, “A lot of meat went into this song.”

The music video for “Leave the Door Open” was directed by Mars and Florent Dechard, and was premiered alongside the song via Bruno Mars’ YouTube channel on the 5th March 2021. The music video begins with a recording studio where Paak plays the drums, Mars the piano and both Paak and Mars’ members are recording the song while women listen outside the booth. As of early May 2021, the video has over 184 million views with 3.7 million likes.
