“Leave Before You Love Me” is the summer 2021 hit from American record producer Marshmello and American group Jonas Brothers, and is a pop song that discusses the vulnerabilities of love and intimacy, as well as the fear of a bad breakup and ending a relationship before anything bad happens to threaten it. The song also interpolates David Martin’s “Can’t Smile Without You” in its chorus.
The music video for “Leave Before You Love Me” was directed by Christian Breslauer and was released via Marshmello’s YouTube channel on the 24th May 2021. The video shows Marshmello and the Jonas Brothers perform the song in the New York subway and then on a rooftop. As of the 22nd July 2021, the video had almost 24 million views and over half a million likes.
