La Perla (feat. Yahritza Y Su Esencia)

ROSALÍA

Album LUX

“La Perla” is the seventh track from Catalan singer-songwriter ROSALÍA and her 2025 album “LUX”, which was released on the 7th November 2025 through Columbia Records. The song features Mexican music trio Yahritza y Su Esencia.

The lyrics show Rosalía confronting what seems to be a past lover, using pointed metaphors such as “ladrón de paz” (peace thief), “terrorista emocional” (emotional terrorist) and “rompecorazones nacional” (national heartbreaker). While Rosalía does not name who she is confronting, many fans speculated that it may be about singer Rauw Alejandro, her previous fiancé. The track’s title alludes to two thing; the famous neighbourhood in San Juan, Puerto Rico (Rauw’s place of origin), as well as the famous Spanish phrase which is often used to mock someone who stands out for negative reasons. In interviews, Rosalía explained that writing “La Perla” allowed her to forgive and forget, although she did state admit that she finds forgiving difficult and it often takes her years.

On the 16th November 2025, Rosalía performed “La Perla” live on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

“La Perla” is certified Platinum in Spain.
