Jealousy. He’s dating former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo, and when they first hung out someone made a comment to Olivia that made Nick turn red in the face. In an interview with MTV News, Nick said: “I’m with my girl and some other guys are looking at her and I was like, ‘I’ve just been training for three months how to be a real fighter for a TV show and I could hurt you now.’ It was a moment when I was like, I’ve got to write about that because the fact that I got so passionate about it so quickly means that there is a song there.” Olivia Culpo told Ryan Seacrest: “The first time I ever hung out with Nick there was actually an incident where somebody did make a comment to me. He had not said a single thing the entire night, except this guy said something to me and Nick turns around red in the face and says, ’What did you just say?’ So I was actually not that surprised.”

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified it triple platinum for sales over three million copies. In the UK, “Jealous” peaked at number 2 on the UK Singles Charts, and was certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).  The song reached number 15 in Australia, number 10 in Canada, and number eight in New Zealand.
