“girl, get up.” is the second collaboration between American rappers Doechii and SZA, released on the 30th December 2025 through Top Dawg Entertainment.
The hip-hop track samples a 2002 track from Birdman and Clipse’s “What Happened to That Boy”, and sees Doechii talk about her experiences as a black woman in the music industry, the ups and downs as well as the overcoming all the lows. SZA appears in the chorus, urging whoever is bothering her and Doechii to leave them alone and get on with their life.
“girl, get up.” was written as the last track on Doechii’s “Swap Sessions” series, where each song would be written in under an hour and then be released with a music video.
