“Fever” is the latest song from Dua Lipa and features Belgian singer Angèle, who sings in French throughout the song, as well as English. It is Angèle’s first track where she sings in English.
“Fever” is a disco-pop and deep house track written by Lipa, Angèle, Caroline Ailin, Ian Kirkpatrick, Jacob Kasher Hindlin and singer Julia Michaels, with Kirkpatrick in charge of production. The track discusses the physical feelings around a new love, where they feel as if they have a fever due to their lover’s touch.
The music video was uploaded to YouTube via Dua Lipa’s YouTube channel on the 6th November 2020. Directed by WAFLA, the video was filmed in Shoreditch in East London in mid-October. The music video follows Lipa and Angèle through a night of dancing, singing and meeting new friends in takeaways and flats. English publication “The Sun” accused Lipa of not following the rules of the COVID-19 pandemic, and stated how police had raided the set after noise complaints. However, Lipa later threatened to sue the tabloid, denouncing their claims. The Sun later issued an official apology to Lipa. As of mid-November, the video has 13.6 million views and well over 650 thousand likes.
