“Empty” is the first track from American recording artist Kevin Abstract (known for being part of the BROCKHAMPTON music collective) and his second studio album “American Boyfriend: A Suburban Love Story”, which was released in 2016.

“Empty” is a slow R&B, alternative hip-hop track, discussing Abstract’s high school life, from love to arguments with parents and growing up. During the Nu Waves Tour with indie band The Neighbourhood, Abstract introduced the record by saying “this song is about high school”.

The music video was released on the 21st September 2016 to BROCKHAMPTON’s YouTube channel. Directed by Abstract, and features Abstract wearing an American football helmet while engaging in sexual activities with what appears to be a fellow team mate, when what appears to be a fellow student walks in. Abstract and his boyfriend are shown driving around the suburbs on a quad bike, then later at a pool. At the end of the video, we are told that the video is dedicated in loving memory of Summer LeBeouf. As of July 2020, the video has 3.3 million views and 88 thousand likes.
