Story of Song
This ‘70s-influenced disco tune features 2009 X Factor contestant Daniel Pearce. Rascal spoke to BBC’s Newbeat program, saying: “It’s just like a massive party record. Massive summer tune. It does what it says on the tin.” In an interview with NME, Rascal was asked if he had gone disco, to which he responded: “I’ve not gone disco totally, man; it’s just for this song. The chance to do a disco tune came up so I grabbed it. I like to fuck around with different types of music, going where the mood takes me. When it feels right, I do it, off the cuff.” When asked about the video, Rascal continued: “There’s no Saturday Night Fever influence. That’s not John Travolta strutting, that’s me, wearing a £2,000 Gucci suit. The moves are more influenced by [You Don’t Mess with the Zohan]. Keep an eye out for the models, I chose them. The video’s about being able to have a good time wherever you go, whether it’s a club or a church hall.”
