After the duo had written the track and recorded a few different demo vocals, they felt that Paloma would be perfect for a feature. In an interview with Digital Spy, Joe Lenzie said: “We’d written the track and originally we had Ella Eyre featuring on it but I think she was trying to move away from the dance stuff and she didn’t want to be the feature artist. We were basically just trying to find someone to replace her because obviously she’s got such an amazing voice. It’s quite hard to get someone as solid as that, but Paloma’s performance is amazing on it so we just kind of took it from there.”

The song peaked at number one on the UK Singles Charts, making it the second number one single for Sigma. The British Phonographic Industry (BPI) certified it platinum for sales over 600.000 copies. In Australia, the song peaked at number 19 and was certified gold by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA). ‘Changing’ topped the charts in Belgium and Scotland, while making it to the top 10 charts in Croatia, Ireland and New Zealand.  It never made it to US charts and peaked at number 87 in Germany, number 33 in Denmark, and number 11 in Poland. The music video has racked up over 30 million hits.
