Story of Song
‘Blame’ tells the story of a man who feels guilty about cheating on his partner, but isn’t willing to accept responsibility for his actions. “Blame it on the night, don’t blame it on me”. Later, he apologizes and says that he’ll be better in the future. The fans and the media immediately speculated that ‘Blame’ was about Harris’s ex-girlfriend Rita Ora, but Harris immediately denied that. While talking to Ryan Seacrest, he said: “…it definitely isn’t. Newman wrote that song.”
