Beggin’

“Beggin’” is the 2007 Norwegian hip-hop group Madcon’s cover of the original track, which was made popular by The Four Seasons in 1967. The original track was written by Bob Gaudio & Peggy Farina, with Madcon altering their version by tweaking some lyrics as well as adding some rap verses, as well as giving the song a more neo-soul and R&B sound. Madcon consists of members Yosef Wolde-Mariam and Tshawe Baqwa.

“Beggin’” shows Madcon begging for their lover to come out, essentially trying to understand why their ex-lover is not reciprocating their feelings for them, as well making life generally difficult for Madcon.

The release date for the video is not confirmed, however the music video was uploaded to Madcon’s YouTube channel in February 2010. It features Madcon playing a game in their apartment, and then both of them falling asleep and being transported to an alternate universe. In this universe, Madcon are stars of their own action film that seems to draw inspiration from 70’s films. As of late June 2020, the video has 62.4 million views and 974 thousand likes.
