Be Kind

“Be Kind” is a synth-pop track from American producer Marshmello (Christopher Comstock) and singer and musician Halsey (Ashley Frangipane). It was released on the 1st May 2020, and was written by Amy Allen, Halsey, Freddy Wexler, Gian Stone and Marshmello; with Marshmello also producing the track with Stone.

“Be Kind” is a track about being kind to those you love, despite your circumstances. It is an empowering song, that also questions the true motivation of a significant other in a romantic relationship. It is rumoured that the track is about rapper G-Eazy, a former boyfriend of Halsey’s, who was discovered to be cheating on Halsey while they were together.

There is currently no official music video to the tracks due to the current worldwide lockdown, but two official lyrics videos were released to YouTube from both artists. Marshmello’s lyric video was posted first on the 1st May 2020, with Halsey’s arriving only five days later. The current total view count for both videos is 7.8 million views.
