“Appletree” is the third track from Erykah Badu’s debut album “Baduizm”, which was released in March 1997. “Appletree” was written by Badu with Robert Bradford, as well as produced by Badu with Ike Lee.
“Appletree” is a neo-soul and R&B track where Badu compares her knowledge and wisdom as fruits on a tree – an apple tree. Badu emphasizes important lessons throughout the song, such as always counting your blessings, not pretending to be someone else and choosing your friends wisely.
There is no official music video for “Appletree”, however the official audio upload on Badu’s YouTube channel has 21,450 views since its upload in December 2019.
