Afraid To Feel

LF SYSTEM

Album Afraid To Feel (Single)

“Afraid To Feel” is the 2022 hit summer single from Scottish DJ duo LF SYSTEM. The mix was originally created in 2019 but was fully released in 2022.

Despite being released on the 2nd May 2022, it wasn’t until a month later that the track began to chart in the UK and eventually reached #1. The song samples Philadelphia International Records act Silk and their 1979 song “I Can’t Stop (Turning You On)”, with the lead vocals from Debra Henry variating speeds throughout the track.

The Scottish duo found the track in 2019 while searching for samples to use. To avoid potential sample clearance issues, LF SYSTEM re-recorded and interpolated the orignal sample as a replayed use. The original version by Silk had a tempo of 85bpm, with “Afraid To Feel” at 130bpm.

Thematically, the song is about a potential love connection as well as sexual attraction.

The music video for the song was uploaded on the 1st July 2022 to LF SYSTEM‘s official YouTube video. As of the 19th July 2022, the video had a total of over 525 thousand views.

“Afraid To Feel” received Silver certification in the UK.
