Story of Song
This song brought junior doctor Harriet Nerva to tears after listening to it while having a bad day at work. She told The Guardian newspaper in the UK that she “was having a really bad time at work. A patient with cancer that I had been looking after for quite a number of weeks died. I was listening to the song and it dawned on me that a great way of translating how I was feeling and how proud I was to work for the NHS would be getting the song to number 1. I think some of the messages in the song are very pertinent, It’s to say we’re here for you, throughout the week, 365 days a year.”
The video feature footage of the National Health Service (NHS) staff working at the Trust. The song is a mash up of Coldplay’s “Fix You” and Simon and Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water”.

The song was fighting for number 1 with Justin Bieber’s ‘Love Yourself’ in the UK until Justin asked his fans to support the charity single.
