Behind today’s advent door lies a much happier tune! Stevie Wonder’s What Christmas Means To Me is practically bursting with Christmas Motown joy. Released in 1967 on the Someday At Christmas Album but not as a single until 1971 when it failed to chart (how? How can this be?!), the song itself is a perfect, shining slice of Christmas happiness.
It has since been covered by lots of different artists, from Hanson (remember them?) to En Vogue, Paul Young and even Jessica Simpson, but of course no one can do it better than Stevie. The exuberance of the singing is really special and for this reason it should be guaranteed a spot on everyone’s Christmas playlist.
