Story of Song

‘Waiting All Night’ spent a lot of time just waiting for the right voice to sing it. In an interview with The Sun, Amir Amor, songwriter and DJ/producer, talked about working with Ella Eyre, saying: “We don’t write songs with anyone in mind but hope that the right person will come along. We had ‘Waiting All Night’ written for a long time and were just sitting on it, as we couldn’t find the right voice to make it come to life. Then we met Ella, who had just come out of school, and she just killed it. We’d been looking for someone to come on tour with us and she was perfect.”
The video for this song is based on the true life story of BMX champion and actor Kurt Yaeger. Kurt became an amputee after a motorcycle accident in 2006. Amir spoke to MTV UK about it, saying: “it’s close to us cos we’re in Hackney so it was a big part of our lives for a few months. It’s actually a true story. A lot of the footage that you see was filmed already.”
