We’re back after a short break! Last week, we brought you our interview with Keir, an incredible UK based musician who spoke all about song writing, rule breaking and creating during lockdown. This week, we’re bringing you 3 new songs that are in the top 10 of the Spotify’s Top 50 UK chart. “Peaches” – Justin Bieber, Daniel Caesar, Giveon (currently at #1)
“Peaches” is the twelfth track from Justin Bieber and his new album “Justice”. “Peaches” features singer Giveon and R&B singer Daniel Caesar, and is an ode to various regions of the US, as well as an ode to his love. The music video was directed by infamous director Colin Tilley and was uploaded to YouTube on the 19th March 2021. The video shows all musicians driving down a highway while they swap positions, from driving, to singing out the window and lying on the roof. In only a few days, the video has received over 16 million views and 1.1 million likes.
“Hold On” – Justin Bieber (currently at #7)
The ninth song from Bieber’s sixth studio album “Justice” is “Hold On”, a smooth upbeat track that deals with feelings of hopelessness and toxic cycles. The video was directed by Colin Tilley, and shows Bieber being chased by police. The audience are then given the backstory, with Bieber stealing from a bank in order to not lose his home or partner, who is also suffering with a terminal illness that they cannot afford to pay for. “BED” – Joel Corry, RAYE, David Guetta (currently at #8)
“BED” is the latest release from producer Joel Corry, singer RAYE and DJ David Guetta. The piano-led house track talks about missing a lover and wishing they were near. The music video for “BED” was released on the 5th March 2021 and was directed by Elliot Simpson. The video shows AI robots being made for humans to interact with. RAYE and Corry are shown as robots, who in the end find each other, and the humans with them find love too. Watch the video here.
