So, grab a cup of coffee, tea, water… and sit down, relax and read about some of the highest charting songs this week.

“WITHOUT YOU”- the Kid LAROI  (currently at #2)

“WITHOUT YOU” marks the first international single from Australian rapper and singer the Kid LAROI. It is the seventh song from the rapper’s debut mixtape titled “F*ck Love (Savage)”, released in July 2020. The song covers themes of love and heartbreak, as well as the issues of a toxic love-hate relationship. The music video was released in December 2020 and was directed by Steve Cannon, and currently has 17.4 million views. Watch the video here.

“Money Talks” (feat. Dave) – Fredo, Dave (currently at #3)

“Money Talks” features some of the best Black and British talent around. By British rappers Fredo and Dave, “Money Talks” goes back and forth between the two artists while they talk about the impact and weight of having money, and the privilege it brings. Released on the 28th January 2021, the music video was uploaded to Fredo’s YouTube channel on the same day. The video has 2.6 million views, and tells a story worth telling and listening to. “Paradise” (feat. Dermot Kennedy) – MEDUZA, Dermot Kennedy (currently at #6)

The deep house song that just won’t leave the UK charts since its debut in October 2020. Produced and written by Italian trio MEDUZA and Irish singer and songwriter Dermot Kennedy, “Paradise” is a house love song comparing paradise to that of the love of a partner. The music video was filmed in the ghost town of Craco, in the Italian region of Basilicata and directed by Jess Kohl. Since its release in October 2020, the video has over 21 million views and well over a quarter of a million likes. Watch the stunning video here.

“Whoopty” – CJ (currently at #7)

“Whoopty”, despite the song only being 2 minutes and 5 seconds long, ended up being certified Gold in the US due to its success. It is classified as part of the drill genre, which is an early type of trap music that originated in the South Side of Chicago in 2010. Sung by American rapper CJ, the track samples an Indian song “Sanam Re” (2015) which is sung by Arijit Singh and Mithoon. The video has over 166.5 million views and over 2.2 million likes since its upload to YouTube on the 30th July 2020 – watch it here.

“Mood” (feat. iann dior) – 24kGoldn, iann dior (currently at #10)

“Mood” is the August 2020 hit from American rapper 24kGoldn with vocals from Puerto Rican rapper and singer Iann Dior. The guitar driven pop and rap song, discusses a back-and-forth toxic romantic relationship that is mainly indecisive, manipulative and consistently rough emotionally. The song became the sound of the summer, and is still in chart 6 months later. The music video has a mere 157.6 million views with 3.2 million likes – watch it here.
